What is Roper Appliances?
Roper Appliances is a brand of consumer electronic goods owned by 'Whirlpool Corporation' which is an American multinational company. Its product line includes a wide variety of home appliances ranging from washers, dryers and accessories. Before 1990s the brand was independently operated and in the year 1989 it was taken over by Whirlpool Corporation.
The parent company of Roper brand i.e. Whirlpool, started its business operations in the year 1911 in St. Joseph, Michigan. It was founded by two American brothers, Louis and Emory Upton. Initially, the company manufactured electrically operated wringer washers. A global business magazine, Fortune, listed the company in its Fortune 500 list. Whirlpool has offices in many countries across Asia, Africa, Australia, Europe, North and South America. The company in 1951 gave birth to a philanthropic organization, Whirlpool Foundation.
Since its inception Whirlpool Corporation took over operations of many other companies in order to expand its own operations. In the year 1955, Whirlpool completed the acquisition of the Seeger Refrigerator Company. The corporate office of the company is situated in Benton Charter Township. Whirlpool Corporation is one of the major employers in the country employing a large strength of people. For providing after sales services the company runs a large network of service centers across the globe.
