What is Police London Ontario?
The London Police is one of the law enforcement agencies in London, Ontario. It promotes training and life long learning to maintain an equitable workplace for the development of community by making use of efficient resources. The London Police has created accessibility standards for providing a wide array of services including auctions, record checks, lost and found information, freedom of information and many more. In accordance with the Ontario Police Services Act, the London police focuses on different areas including crime prevention, Law Enforcement, Assistance to victims of crime, Public order maintenance and emergency response. It is a dynamic organization that falls into 5 different divisions including Executive office, Uniformed Division, Criminal Investigation Division, Corporate Services Division and Support Services Division. These divisions are further broken down into different branches and sections such as Corporate Services Division includes Personnel Services Branch, Recruiting and Training, etc.; Support Services Division includes Fleet and Facilities Branch, Communications Section, Court Services Section, etc.; Criminal Investigation Division includes Domestic Abuse Unit, Youth Crime Unit, Investigation Response Unit, Criminal Intelligence Section, Investigation Support Unit, etc. and Uniformed Division includes Community Services Unit, Emergency Response Section, Crisis Negotiation Unit, School Safety Patrol, etc. The London Police was established in February 1855.
