What is Mn State Fair?
The Minnesota State Fair is considered as the largest state fair in the U.S. State of Minnesota celebrated for twelve days before Labor Day. The slogan of the fair is 'The Great Minnesota Get-Together'. The people of the state join the Fair and show their abilities in different fields, such as art, cooking etc. The Minnesota State Fair celebrates from August to September for 12 days. In the year 2009, the attendance at the fair was calculated as 1,790,497, approximately equivalent to 34% of the population of the state. Initially, the fair organized in 1854 by the Minnesota Territory. Major attractions at the fair include Livestock, where a large number of farm animals are displayed to compete for awards; Food, a wide variety of foods are available at the fair like Cotton candy, hot dogs, cheese curds, corn dogs etc.; Machinery Hill, Big area of the fairgrounds. The Minnesota State Fair also hosts a variety of shows like concerts, product demonstrations, State Fair Talent Contest and comedy shows. The fair has displayed an annual art exhibition, which includes watercolor, acrylic paintings, oil painting, pastels, sculptures, photographs, ceramics, textiles and glass, but only the people of the state can participate in this competition. The Minnesota State Fair is a quasi-state agency, which has performed under the control of the Minnesota State Agricultural Society.
