What is Memphis Airport Contact?
Memphis Airport is an International Airport based in Memphis, Tennessee, United states. Mayor Watkins Overton laid the foundation of Memphis Airport in 1927. It was formerly known as Memphis Municipal Airport. On June 14, 1929 the airport had Three hangars and a simple runway. In the same year, the airmail service and passengers were arriving and departure by American Airlines, Chicago and Southern Air Lines. In 1939, the airport built its new terminal. During second world war, the airport facilities were controlled under US Army and used for sending aircraft overseas. After world war the airport begun to improve the runways and landing six major carriers in 1949. With the growth of airport the Planning Commission renamed it as Memphis Metropolitan Airport which has new terminal with featured 22 gate positions for allowing space to seven airlines operates daily flights. In 1969, the airport reintroduced as Memphis International Airport based on allowing services for international passengers and cargo.
The Memphis International Airport has four paved runways with facilities of over 67 aircrafts including American Airlines, American Eagle, Delta Air Lines, Delta Connection, Frontier Airlines, Southwest Airlines, United Express, US Airways Express and many others. It serving flight services up-to 7,874,888 passengers in a year to various destinations including Washington, Salt Lake City, Detroit, Orlando, Florida, Atlanta and others. Memphis International Airport has various showrooms and boutiques for shopping, restaurants, Wine Bar, Caffe for breakfast lunch and dinner, ATM, Foreign Currency Exchange, Barber Shop, Ticket lobby and much more.
Memphis International Airport has two hubs named as Fedex Express and SeaPort Airlines. SeaPort Airlines is a regional airline which serves scheduled flights services to passengers from Memphis Airport to various destinations where as Fedex Express is a subsidiary of FedEx Corporation, a Cargo airline delivering freight and packages to more than 375 destinations including London, Sao Paulo, Anchorage and Honolulu, Mexican, Paris, Cologne, Canadian, Dubai, Seoul, Tokyo and others. In 1973, FedEx Express setup its services with Memphis Airport. It became the global hub of FedEx Express from 1981.
