What is FFXI?
Final Fantasy XI or Final Fantasy XI Online abbreviated as FFXI is a multiplayer online role-playing game (MMORPG) which is developed by Square. The game is designed and produced by Hiromichi Tanaka. The game was launched on 16th May 2002 at Japan. Initially it as compatible for Sony PlayStation 2 and other Microsoft’s windows based personal computers. It was the first cross-platform MMORPG game along with Xbox 360’s first MMORPG. The game has launched in various versions and all of the versions required monthly subscription.
About FFXI
The idea of developing such a real life game is introduced by Hironobu Sakaguchi during implementation of
Square Pictures Headquarters at Hawaii. The game is also listed in the IGN’s most anticipated
Playstation 2 games till 2004. Being a publisher, Sony has also spent million dollars to advertise the Final Fantasy XI by providing Play station hard drive as an add-on to the buyers.
FFXI Operations
Final Fantasy XI is different from its earlier versions as now the players can modify their characters in terms of gender, hair color, body size, facial style, job and nation allegiance. The game allows players to choose from mouse, keyboard and controller for playing. The Music of the game is given by Naoshi Mizuta, Nobuo Uematsu and Kumi Tanioka. The music has been released in various CD forms and has also been sung at final fantasy concerts.
